SAILING


  • Sailing and Racing Clinics are held every Thursday afternoon at 1500 hours and will begin on June 21, 2012.  Each session starts with a chalk talk about boat handling or racing tactics or rules, followed by on-the-water practice.  A tentative schedule of clinics is below:

  • Ladies Sailing meets every Tuesday for lunch, learning and fun sailing.  All women members of BHYC and BHOD are welcome, whatever their sailing ability or experience.  Ladies Sailing will start on June 12, 2012.  The co-chairs of  ladies sailing are Donna Muzzy and Lenore Imhof. 

  • Men's Sailing meets at 11:45 every Friday for lunch and good conversation, followed by recreational sailing in a variety of boats.  Men's Sailing will begin on June 15, 2012. The chair of the Men's Sailing Committee is Steven Permut who can be contacted by email at:  sepermut@gmail.com.

  • Sailboat captains are particularly encouraged to come as often as possible so those without a vessel can join the fun.  All  are encouraged to participate regardless of experience.  Special events are sometimes planned which may require an earlier start. 

BHYC is located in West Boothbay Harbor, a wonderful sailing venue -  protected yet offering easy access to the beautiful Maine coast.

BHYC has two J-22 sailboats available to members for practice or racing or lessons.  There are many fun sailing opportunities throughout the summer:
