Visiting Yachts & Mooring Rental

Visiting Boothbay Harbor by boat this summer? We look forward to welcoming you to Boothbay Harbor!

We have guest moorings available from 1,500 to 3,000 lbs; mooring fees are only $50 per night for vessels up to 60 feet. Coming in a group? We offer a 10% discount for six (or more) visiting vessels (please note your group in the reservation). Not a member of a yacht club? No problem. Our guest moorings are open to all! The usage fee entitles visitors to use of the launch service, wi-fi, showers, laundry, tennis, and bar and dining room access. All reservations require a credit card one-night deposit with a 24 hour cancellation policy. We also offer reciprocity to members of other Yacht Clubs to the extent their Clubs offer reciprocity to our members. We're a short taxi ride into town, or a 1.3-mile walk.

Our club stewards provide launch service from the Club's docks as a convenience to members and visitors during the season..

Water and electricity are available at the dock. Dockside depth is 14 feet at low tide. Checks and credit cards are accepted. Moorings may be reserved in advance for up to a two week stay. Please hail the stewards on VHF Channel 09 or report dockside to the Steward on duty when you arrive.

Courtesy Membership Privileges

Visitors from reciprocal yacht clubs, arriving by boat or car, and guests of BHYC members can enjoy lunch or dinner in the Club dining room or bar.

Courtesy membership privileges may be granted to a visiting yachtsman renting a guest BHYC mooring upon verification that he/she is a member of a recognized yacht club from outside of the Boothbay Region. Such privileges shall be for the period of time that the guest mooring is rented.

Courtesy membership privileges may also be granted to a visiting member of a recognized yacht club that is location more than 25 statute miles from the Clubhouse and who is not renting a BHYC mooring. Such privileges shall be for a period of up to three days per year.

The visiting member shall receive a Card of Invitation from the Office. The information requested will include his/her name, the name and address of his/her yacht club and the dates of visitation. Courtesy privileges may be extended, limited, or denied at the discretion a Flag Officer.

A visiting yachtsman renting a BHYC mooring, who is not a member of a recognized yacht club, may enjoy the use of the launch, shower, laundry, bar and dining room privileges.

Learn to Sail

Have you ever wanted to learn to sail? Do you know the basics and want to build your skills? Want to be confident you can take the helm in an emergency? We offer a variety of excellent courses for adults with low instructor-to-student ratios at BHYC, which is one of only two sailing programs in Maine to be accredited by US Sailing. Visiting youth can also join us for a week or more for tennis and sailing with the Junior Program.
