Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club and Marblehead Yacht Club invite sailors to participate in the Downeast Challenge, a long distance overnight sailboat race of 100 nautical miles starting in Marblehead on Friday, Aug 2 with finish and awards party Saturday, Aug 3 at BHYC. The event is sponsored by Rising Tide Brewery and Rumson's Rum. This is a great way to challenge yourself with long distance overnight sailing in PHRF racing, cruising and short-handed divisions. The 100nm distance makes this a qualifier for ocean races like the Marblehead to Halifax or Newport to Bermuda.
