The Boothbay Harbor One Design Invitational welcomes all sailboats less than 30 feet to join in three circuits of the inner Harbor.
Depending on wind direction, we sail from the Tumble buoy, R8, to the inner Harbor marker, G9, to the US Coast guard mark “C” near the yacht club.
If you want to race, the start is at 1 PM. Many boats join in the circuit and get the feel of returning to our Harbor.

Welcome to support of the Boothbay Harbor One Design fleet and summer sailing

We look forward again to the first weekend sail event of the BHYC calendar. The BHYC will support the BHOD fleet and their invitation to all boats under 30 feet to join them in opening the harbor to racing.

We plan to have a BHYC youth instructor to start a race at 1 PM. We hope to also have a committee boat on the start line. We welcome all boats in the harbor to join in the fun.

We will use VHF channel 72 for all communications. Sailing instructions are quite simple. With normal wind we will start at the Coast Guard Buoy east of the BHYC mooring field and sail to Tumbler Island Buoy, then to the inner harbor green buoy and back to CG buoy. We will go around three times, some racing all enjoying.

With a Northerly wind, we shall reverse the course, so the first leg is up wind from Tumbler Island buoy. Any boat under thirty feet can comfortably join in this tight loop. So, come one and all.
